Living with Hurricanes: Katrina & Beyond is a permanent exhibit at the Louisiana State Museum’s Presbytere on Jackson Square. Cote Blanche did five films for the exhibit: “Living with Water” which plays above Fats Domino’s wrecked piano, “Resilience” about how south Louisiana keeps coming back from hurricanes, yellow fever, levee breaks and more, “Rita” about the hurricane that wiped out southwestern Louisiana 6 weeks after Katrina, “Reducing Risks” explains the technology being implemented to make us safer, and the grand finale “Life in Balance” that uses 14 screens hidden in window frames to explain why we came back after Katrina & Rita and why we stay.
